Publication of the Alton Estate Regeneration Engagement Strategy

The publication of the strategy follows a comprehensive review of community engagement. An initial action plan has been developed and will be further developed with the community, ensuring that planned activities, events and opportunities for involvement meet the key themes:

•  Putting affected residents at the heart of engagement;

•  Good resident engagement and representation during the construction phase so the impact of development can be managed well;

•  Providing space for residents to give their views generally (as opposed to setpiece consultation events on specific issues); and

•  The role of social interaction in engagement – i.e. there are benefits of people getting together regardless of whether there is anything regeneration related to consult on or discuss
